What this page is

Starbets (starbets.io) is a cryptocurrency-only online casino. We previously published a longer “hands-on” review of this site. We are now replacing it with this factual page because we could not verify the claims in the old review, and because Starbets’ licensing position is, at present, unverifiable for UK readers. This page states what we can verify, what we cannot, and the risks for customers based in Great Britain.

Licensing: what we can and cannot verify

• UK Gambling Commission: Starbets does not appear on the UKGC public register of gambling businesses (checked 19 October 2026, search “starbets” — zero results). It therefore does not hold a UK operating licence, and we cannot recommend it to readers in Great Britain.
• Any other licence: the site does not name a regulator. Its own “Licensing and Regulation” FAQ states only that it is “licensed by a well-respected gaming authority”, with no authority name, no licence number and no operator name. We were not able to identify the operator company from the site’s Terms of Service (a public PDF, which we read in full on 16 October 2026): it contains no company name, registered address or licence reference.
• What this means for UK readers: a casino that is not UK-licensed cannot lawfully accept customers from Great Britain under the Gambling Act 2005. If it is marketed to UK customers from a non-UK licence (for example a Curaçao or MGA licence), it is operating in a grey area where UK consumer protections — including the UKGC’s complaint process and the GAMSTOP self-exclusion service — do not apply to it.

The offer as advertised

The offer currently advertised on this site’s Starbets card is a 100% deposit match up to $200 (or the crypto equivalent). We are publishing it because it is what the card shows; we have not verified it against the operator’s live site, and the operator’s public terms contain no wagering, game or expiry details we could confirm. Treat any figure on this page as “as advertised”, not as verified.

Reputation signals (unverified)

We list these so readers can form their own view. They are user allegations, not findings:

• Trustpilot pages for starbets.io contain user reviews alleging that deposits were not paid out. We have not verified these allegations and the operator has not responded to us.
• A third-party UK-facing review (FIRST.com) noted that no operator or ownership information is published for the site.

Why we no longer recommend it to UK readers

• No UKGC licence — the single most important consumer-protection layer for a GB-based gambler is absent.
