Online gambling is a form of entertainment, not a way to earn money. The house always has a mathematical edge, and any individual session can lose your stake. If gambling stops being fun, the single most important step is to take a break from it.
Free, confidential support
- Gambling helpline: call 0808 8020 133 (England and Scotland, 24/7) or 0808 2819 265 (Wales, 24/7) — free, confidential, year-round.
- Gamcare: gamcare.org.uk — in-depth support, counselling and information.
- BeGambleAware: begambleaware.org — information, self-assessments and links to support.
- UK Gambling Commission: gamblingcommission.gov.uk — consumer information, complaint process and the public licence register.
Self-exclusion
GAMSTOP (gamstop.co.uk) is the UK’s free, self-funded self-exclusion service. It blocks your access to all UK-licensed online gambling sites for 6 months, 12 months or 5 years. It is designed for people who want to stop or cut down gambling. Self-exclusion is a major step — if you are considering it, please also speak to the helpline above; you do not have to manage it alone.
What we do not do with this page
This page offers information and support only. We do not link casino offers here, and we will never use a search for gambling help as a reason to recommend you a casino.
