Each casino on this site carries four ratings out of 10, shown on its review page and used to sort the casino lists: Trust & Fairness, Games & Software, Bonuses & Promotions, and Customer Support, plus an Overall Rating. This page explains exactly what each rating measures and the evidence behind it.
Eligibility gate (before any rating)
A casino is only rated for UK readers if it holds a current UK Gambling Commission operating licence covering the domain we review. We verify this against the UKGC public register and record the licence holder, account number and check date on each review page. If a casino does not hold a UK licence, we do not rate it and we do not recommend it to UK readers — whatever else it offers.
What each rating measures
| Rating | What we assess | Primary evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Trust & Fairness | Verified licence status; named operating company; safer-gambling tools (limits, self-exclusion, reality checks); complaint and dispute-resolution route; operator transparency | UKGC public register (dated check); operator’s published responsible-gambling and terms pages |
| Games & Software | Breadth of game categories and named software providers as listed on the operator’s site at our check date | Operator’s game lobby / provider listings at check date (we state counts as “the lobby lists …”) |
| Bonuses & Promotions | Transparency of terms: published T&Cs, clear wagering, stated max bet, expiry, game exclusions. We score how clearly and fairly the terms are set — not how generous the bonus is. Terms that breach the UKGC 10× wagering cap lower this rating | Operator’s promotions page + full T&Cs, captured with a check date |
| Customer Support | Published support channels, stated availability, help-centre depth, complaint process | Operator’s support pages (we have not contacted support teams, so no response-time scores) |
How scores are set
- Each rating is scored 0–10 (half-point increments) from the dated evidence above. Every review page shows its “Last checked” date; ratings are re-verified on our maintenance schedule (offers weekly, licensing monthly) and re-scored when the underlying facts change.
- We do not open gambling accounts, deposit money or place bets. Ratings reflect documented, public information — not hands-on experience.
- Where a fact cannot be verified, the affected rating is scored conservatively (or the casino is not rated at all) rather than guessed.
- Commission rates are not an input to any rating. Affiliate relationships are disclosed on each review.
- We publish no user ratings or testimonials as evidence.
What we do not do
- We do not claim to “audit SSL” or “calculate RTP” for operators — we report what the operator and its auditors state.
- We do not publish withdrawal-speed benchmarks unless we have dated, documented observations (we do not, so we publish operator-stated positions as such).
- We do not rate a casino above the evidence supports, and we do not display a rating we cannot stand behind.
